Billy Rael finds the notebook in Laredo, and in it's cryptic scribblings lie the key which set this adventure in motion - for Billy discovers a link between this anonymous journal and Ambrose Bierce, the celebrated American author who disappeared into Old Mexico in 1913, and it is to solve this mystery that Billy is stirred into action, inspiring his lover Lilac to journey with him as skeptical partner.
